Les 3 Vallées
Reimagining a ski resort experience with playful, innovative services.

↳ Context
“80% of skiers only enjoy 20% of the ski area.” Various studies have shown that, on average, a skier takes the same 10 lifts during their ski week. With this in mind, the 3 Valleys ski area aimed to create an experience encouraging skiers to explore the area’s features and get the most out of their ski pass.
↳ Challenge
The 3 Valleys, the world's largest ski area, attracts plenty of attention and a diverse clientele. The challenge was adapting to skiers' evolving habits and expectations, allowing them to better enjoy the area through a fun and innovative experience (unseen elsewhere) that brings satisfaction, emotion, surprise, and a memorable stay.
↳ Strategy
Design a fun and innovative solution considering the entire ecosystem and existing elements:
The behaviors, expectations, and concerns observed in visitors: to simplify choices, guide them more easily to destinations, and reduce decision-related anxiety.
Shifting from exploring a vast and complex area to discovering destinations: inviting guests to visit and achieve simplified, realistic goals.
Transform “always more” into “always different”: leverage and highlight the existing strengths of the area—no need to reinvent everything.
↳ Achievements
A multi-channel initiative named EXPLORER
A unique concept and strong identity for this joint project between various stakeholders.
A digital platform including an interactive map to explore freely or in game mode, featuring points of interest to discover, challenges for gamification, a community of skiers…
Signage across the area to locate and enjoy the points of interest.
A data tracking dashboard (BI) to understand user statistics and monitor service performance.
Explorer is a true asset for our industry, sparking discovery and adventure for both young and old. Thanks to Insign and the hard work of the ski lift marketing managers, we're set to (re)introduce our area like never before, ensuring everyone enjoys its multitude of benefits.
